Financial Control Officer (M/F) – Porto

Fórum Selecção is looking for a Financial Control Officer (M/F) for a Corporate Bank (Porto).

Key Responsibilities
– Support monthly and quarterly accounting closings, including reconciliations across bonds, equities, commodities, financing, fixed income and derivatives.
– Analyse discrepancies between accounting balances and inventories and coordinate the necessary adjustments.
– Monitor and improve financial data quality, including data collection, controls, anomaly analysis and remediation.
– Manage and ensure the accuracy and integrity of Critical Data Elements (CDEs) used for financial reporting and analysis.
– Develop and automate manual data collection and control processes.
– Implement data quality controls covering completeness, accuracy, consistency and timeliness.
– Identify root causes of data issues and work with data owners and internal teams to implement corrective actions.
– Maintain and improve operational procedures and reporting processes.
– Collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, Finance IT and teams across the wider banking organisation, including Paris-based stakeholders.

Profile
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
– First professional experience in Financial/Accounting Controlling, Finance or Audit, preferably within a mid/large-cap company or financial institution.
– Good knowledge of financial products and accounting processes.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with and interpret data.
– Experience with data visualisation, data preparation or automation tools is a plus.
– Rigor, accuracy and attention to detail.
– Strong communication, autonomy and teamwork skills.
– Proactive, curious and solution-oriented mindset.

Temporary project (6 months, could be renewed)

– Schedule between 9.00 am and 6.00 pm (Hybrid)
– Location: Porto
